Wednesday Colombia Update

By April 27, 2011One Comment

Over the past 24 hours we have continued to receive reports from our teams in Colombia about the severity of damage that occurred at some farms due to flooding. We know for sure that only a percentage of farms sustained flooding damage, however like all emerging news reports, it is tough to understand the full impact. The majority of our farms are shipping as scheduled with the exception of the flowers the hardest hit such as Pom Pons and Hydrangea. We will keep you abreast of issues as they occur.

Below is yesterday’s farm report from our  liasion in Bogota…

We had a nice sunny day today. Hopefully this will help all of our farms with their productions. The consequences of the bad weather in the country are outrageous. There are more than 3 million people that have completely lost their homes and to date 400 casualties. I’m in the process of finding out an accurate % of affected farms and more importantly crops.

Some roads are still very difficult to transit….
