In 1961 John F. Kennedy was sworn in as President of the United States, West Side Story had just been released, and Bill “Rags” Ragsdale was beginning his employment with Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist. For most of us, that may seem like a lifetime ago. To Bill and The Wilkins Family, it feels like the relationship started yesterday.
Over the past half-century, Mr. Ragsdale has shown unparalleled dedication and unmatched performance towards helping provide our customers with their floral needs. Which is why we are sad to announce that Bill Ragsdale is retiring from Delaware Valley, yet honored to have had the privilege to work with such an amazing person for so long. Without someone like him, we could not have become the company we are today.
With great admiration and appreciation, we would like to thank Bill from the bottom of our hearts for everything he has done.
Friday, July 15th will be Bill’s final day at Delaware Valley. For most of his tenure he has played a role in the Operations department and will be departing as the Distribution Manager of our Sewell facility.
If you have had the pleasure to work with “Rags” in the past, please post your remarks on our DVFlora Facebook page or send an email to jburk@dvwf.com.
I am honored to have had the pleasure to be associated with Bill Ragsdale for the past 33 years. I will truly miss his presence at Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist. I will miss his impromptu visits to my shop whenever I needed a very special delivery! I’ll miss those hugs, too!
Enjoy your well earned retirement, Rags! You are a dear friend and I will treasure my memories of you. Best wishes to you always!
Fondly,
Dianne Richardson-Conda

It is a sad day for dv’s customers but a wonderful day for “Rags”. He was always there to help out if ever the need be. He also was to my shop when a special delivery was needed. He always made me feel like I was his friend always acknowledging me. Hi Tina, how are you doing, hope all is well. That was what he would say to me any time I had the pleasure of speaking to him. He is truly a gentleman and he will be missed by me and I am sure by all who had the honor and privelege of knowing Mr. Ragsdale…
Thanks Rags !!!
