A venue is often the starting point for your wedding planning. If you are considering a city backdrop, David Austin has created a rose-filled wedding just for you.

This tailored city wedding incorporates a relaxed vibe combined with pared-back luxury and elegant design – lots of lovely details to swoon over and inspire your wedding planning journey. Glass of champagne in hand, sit back and plan your dream wedding with David Austin Wedding Roses.

Location, location, location …. Your micro wedding or grand celebration can be set in any city – from New York to Paris; San Francisco to Singapore. In this instance, London played host, providing its city skyline, cosmopolitan vibe, and of course, the traditional black cab.

There are white wedding roses and then there is a David Austin Rose. Leonora (Auswagsy) is the Queen of ivory roses, who performs on a grand stage with immense grace and poise. A true statement rose that fills a space with her presence and fragrance, adding to the sense of occasion.

The wedding reception venue of the Sky Garden was chosen for its dramatic 360-degree views over London.  Located at the top of an architectural gem, known locally as the Walkie Talkie, it is located in the city’s heart.  Cathedral-like windows towered into the sky, flooding the venue with ethereal light.

The wedding bouquet and floral arrangements were skillfully crafted by Mary Jane Vaughan. She maximised the opulence of the open rose blooms, with touches of white lilac, green bell, and viburnum. The floral table centerpiece mirrored the bouquet with additional tall stems of white nerenes gracefully dancing above the lower rose arrangements on the wedding table.  Maidenhair ferns were placed amongst the roses. Vessels were kept sleek and simple – opaque white or clear glass.  Statement urns, filled with roses, were seated on pedestals, carefully framing the wedding tablescape and the vista beyond.

The wedding colour palette was a nod to tradition with shades of white-on-white.  Dashes of midnight blue and muted golds were used as additional colours.

Suzanne Neville’s Orwell wedding dress was playful and sassy yet delivered the tailored elegance we were looking for. It was the perfect balance between city and Audrey Hepburn-style Hollywood glamour and was complimented by the ribboned bridal shoes, which were the design creation of Emmy London.

“I believe that the most incredible thing you can wear is confidence!”
-Emmy Scarterfield, Creative Director and Founder, Emmy London

The bespoke wedding stationery by Peonies & Paperclips incorporated illustrations of the iconic London skyline, and exquisite hand-drawn outlines of the David Austin Wedding Rose, Leonora.

Simplicity means perfection, and pared-back luxury means that every detail counts. All was captured exquisitely by the talented, fine art wedding photographer Camilla J Hards.
