California Weather and Product update

By January 26, 2011No Comments

From Jose Escudero, Transflora California QA Team:

The weather in California has been excellent for the past couple of weeks. Days are in the mid 70’s and nights are in the 40’s.There were some gusty winds last week and more are expected Thursday and Friday this week. Hopefully the wind won’t cause too many spec issues. This steady rise in temps has shaken up all the field crops. The production of stock and larkspur has improved and there should be decent availability for the holiday. The southern farms are just about to explode with product and I think that the quality will just be a bit better from these farms.

Snaps and lisi are blooming finally and the quality is good. The only issue is maybe that they will run out before the holiday- these items will be tight. This is what’s happening now I will keep you posted as things change.
