Orange is the new Spring? Your eyes aren’t deceiving you, we are taking fall oranges and putting a spring twist on them to help incorporate them into your spring repertoire. Orange gloriosa lilies fresh from Japan take center stage in this dynamic design uplifting your eye and adding a touch of whimsy as they appear to climb a river cane structure for support. To counter balance the whimsical attitude of the gloriosas, structured orange gladiolas vertically dance opposite them in a tempting spring tango that brings rhythm and balance to the design.
As your eye travels lower in the design you notice it is all about clusters, paired with the gloriosa are a DVFlora brand rose, Sunset Glory, arranged in a tiered stepping stone manor interspersed with quintessentially spring orange poppies fresh from California. To the right, clusters of distinctively orange Tressor lilies coupled with the softness of orange ranunculus (both from California) blend the boundaries between structure and softness to offer a movement that is distinct but pleasing to the eye. Sandwiched in the middle of this statement piece is a composition of whimsical kangaroo paws and playful orange geum (another California addition), to anchor these two playful selections, orange ball disbuds were added to bring focus and clarity to an otherwise wild mid-section.
To create a feeling of unity among these 3 distinct sections a bedding of greens connects them together; an assortment of salal tips, plumosus grass, and a splash or cup seeded eucalyptus adds texture and helps to unite the arrangement into one solid statement piece. The spring sunset tones of this statement piece have us thawing from the inside out in this otherwise chilly spring season we have had thus far. Balancing the strong with the delicate is indicative of the natural balance of the spring season, barren branches just beginning to show the small buds of life coupled with the delicate clusters of low to the ground blooms ripe with color and the scents of the season have us welcoming this arrangement into our hearts and homes.
