Honoring Heroes: DVFlora's Participation in the 2025 Memorial Day Flowers Initiative
Memorial Day stands as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by countless men and women in service to our nation. In 2025, DVFlora proudly joined hands with the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation, as well as many industry peers, and local communities to pay tribute to our nation’s heroes through the timeless gesture of placing flowers at their final resting places. Our involvement spanned several significant locations, each bearing its own historical and emotional weight.

Salem County Veterans Cemetery: A Community's Tribute
On Monday, May 26th, a dedicated group of volunteers, including DVFlora employees and local families, gathered at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery in New Jersey. The mission was heartfelt and solemn: to place a single rose or carnation at each of the over 3,000 headstones, ensuring that every veteran was individually honored.
This act of remembrance fostered a deep sense of community and reflection. Families, some with personal connections to the interred, participated alongside DVFlora staff, sharing stories and moments of silence. The sight of thousands of flowers adorning the graves served as a powerful visual testament to the gratitude felt by all present.
Arlington National Cemetery: Supporting a National Tradition
DVFlora’s commitment to honoring fallen service members extended to our nation’s capital, where we supported the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation’s efforts at Arlington National Cemetery. Through our sponsorship, we provided enough flowers to adorn 5,500 headstones, contributing to a larger initiative that saw over 150,000 flowers placed throughout the cemetery.
In addition to the headstone tributes, our flowers were also featured at the President’s podium during the National Memorial Day Observance at the Memorial Amphitheater. This annual event, attended by dignitaries and the public alike, serves as a central moment of national reflection and gratitude.
Cape May Coast Guard Auxiliary: A Maritime Memorial
We also had the honor of contributing to the Cape May Coast Guard Auxiliary’s annual Flower Boat Launch ceremony. This unique maritime tradition involves releasing flowers into the sea to honor Coast Guard members who have perished. Our floral donations added to the solemn beauty of the event, symbolizing the nation’s enduring respect for those who served on the waters.

About the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation
Established in 2011, the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring fallen service members through the placement of flowers at their gravesites. What began with the distribution of 10,000 flowers at Arlington National Cemetery has grown into a nationwide movement, with over 300,000 flowers placed in 2023 alone.
The foundation collaborates with a network of over 100 flower growers, importers, and wholesale florists. Logistical support from partners like DVFlora ensures that flowers arrive on time for Memorial Day events across the country. Volunteers play a crucial role in distributing the flowers, turning each placement into a moment of personal reflection and national remembrance.
A Collective Act of Remembrance
DVFlora’s participation in the 2025 Memorial Day Flowers initiative underscores our commitment to honoring those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Through community engagement, logistical support, and floral donations, we aim to keep the memories of these heroes alive.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all volunteers, families, and organizations who joined us in this endeavor. Together, we ensure that the legacy of our service members continues to be honored with the dignity and respect they deserve.
