”Keeping with the freshly picked local recipe;
this week’s design is an eclectic style that ties in classic shape with wild tendencies.
Starting with a solid base of salal (G1110), parviflolia eucalyptus (G2127), and sword fern (G1119); mountain mint white frost (34082) and avalanche foliage (32255) were added out of the combo box to add some fun texture and different shades of soft green. To create a focal, variegated plum sunflowers (57601) were coupled bright pops of golden yarrow (35418) to provide a spot for your eyes to focus on. Darting out from there are 2 varieties of celosia; Sunday pink plume celosia (10752) and hot pink coxcomb celosia (27824), these help to provide a shape and textural element to the design. To add a robust flair and some movement, monarda, bee-balm (21545) provided a unique shape and a rhythm for your eye to follow through the design. To add a touch of looseness and to break up the solidity of the design a mixture of fire king Scabiosa (12344) and drumstick allium (27421) were incorporated in conjunction with some Queen Anne’s lace (40007). With so many textures and petals provided by one box how can you not go wrong with this petal pick me up!
