Recipe of the Week
Jewel tones are a girl’s best friend, or something like that. This week’s recipe is rich in playfully vibrant jewel tones that cover a broad spectrum colors perfect for the start of the summer season. The base of the design is composed of hydrangea ultra violet (57567) in tempting tones of aquamarine with a hint on amethyst running through to give that luxurious feel of a soft antique hydrangea. Stemming from that base to the outer reaches of the design is a mixture of structural line flowers; bells of Ireland (40086) and volkenfrieden delphinium (26708) mix together in cool tones of peridot and sapphire.
The core of the design is composed of a myriad of colors and textures, but the stand out is the fuchsia peony (46720) in bright hues of topaz; to help move the coloration throughout the design and carry your eye hot pink majolica spray roses (29276) and capability garden roses (43913) were added to disperse the intensity and richness of the topaz hue. To pull the peridot tones from the bells of Ireland to the middle local alchemilla (27155) and green berzelia (32902) were incorporated to add a soft texture and brightness to the design. Adding some movement and elevating the senses of scent; purple freesia (31904) was added to expand the spectrum of amethyst tones from the hydrangea, in addition light pink sweet peas (22234) lightened the palette by incorporating tones of a pale pink rose quartz. With such a rich array of color and texture, this week’s recipe is sure sparkle like a brand new ring.
