Our 4 part series on introducing Ecuadorian Rose Farms concludes with Natuflor. Similar to the other growers featured in our previous posts, Natuflor has been around for a while, since 1996, and you are probably familiar with their product. However, we hope the information provided here is valuable to you and will help give you a better understanding of their practices and what sets them apart from the competition.

They are located in the valleys of Machachi and Cayambe, which is about 40 miles south of Quito, very close to Agrinag. Interestingly enough, this region is considered “the middle of the world” and is optimal for growing beautiful roses because of its long days of direct sunlight and high altitude. These conditions provide for long and thick stems, as well as vibrant foliage, intense color, and high durability.

Natuflor’s current catalog is home to 80 varieties of roses and 75 spray roses. Some exclusive selections include Bali, Be Loving, Crazy Rosever, and Fibonacci Yantra. In total, they have 53 hectares of greenhouse space, which equates to about 130 acres.

In addition to growing beautiful roses and spray roses, Natuflor shows a strong commitment to their employees and the environment. They are a member of the Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC), which is a non-profit organization that promotes safe trade in voluntary cooperation with Governments, border agencies, control authorities, and international organizations. Other certifications include the Rainforest Alliance and Global GAP who helps agricultural producers comply with sustainable production methods, workers’ well-being, and the responsible use of water and soil.

For customer delivery the week of September 5th, we are offering a “SPECIAL CREAM OF THE CROP PREVIEW” featuring an assorted 50cm rose box from Natuflor at a promotional price. You can find these by shopping online (code 43823) or by contacting your DV sales associate.
