Meet Corey Rader!
Corey Rader came to DVFlora in July of 2014 and brought with him 10 years of design and industry experience. He first contracted floral fever when he was in high school and became engaged in a floral design program at the age of 14, by his 15th birthday he received a job offer working as a designer at a local flower shop. By the age of 16 he was working as a designer at 2 different flower shops as well as continuing his studies at The Burlington County Institute of Technology’s Horticulture program. Corey came to DVFlora as a sales assistant and still continues to work as a designer in his time off, floral design has been an important part of Corey’s life for years and now he looks to share his love with the rest of the world.
You may be familiar with some of Corey’s work that has been featured in recent Facebook posts. He will be bringing you a brand new blog series called “Trending Worth Recommending” where he’ll highlight the latest and greatest trends in the floral world! The series kicks off with an introduction to unstructured bridal bouquets! Each day this week Corey will be giving you one of his favorite ingredients to create an unstructured bouquet, and at the end of the series, he will share some great tips on how to artistically arrange an unstructured bouquet of your own!
The Future is Unstructured: The Art of Creating Unstructured Florals
Log in to Pinterest or open any current wedding magazine, and you will see them; artfully messy, larger than life, unstructured bridal bouquets making their way down the aisle and into the hands of the brides to be on their way to a consultation. This is not a trend to turn a blind eye to, more and more brides are looking to this design inspiration to complete their big day, so much so that not only are their bouquets unstructured but the entire ceremony and reception décor evoke a feeling or relaxed, homemade country florals. But somehow these trendy little numbers can be harder to make than they look, that’s why we are here to give you the breakdown on what to use to keep your bride happy and your day stress free!
Today’s Ingredient
Silver Dollar Eucalyptus
Silver dollar eucalyptus is quickly replacing seeded eucalyptus on the wedding circuit, its larger leaf, true blue color, and ability to gracefully lend itself to any color pallet make this a top pick for many florists the world over. In an unstructured style it adds a sense of rhythm and movement as well as keeps the design loose and airy.
