Visiting a Tulip Grower in the USA

By January 29, 2010No Comments

Some of our Product managers visited our tulip supplier last week, which is located in Virginia approximately 200 miles from Sewell NJ.

They grow their tulips hydroponically in “Cabriolet” Greenhouses. When the weather is right for tulips, the greenhouse completely opens to allow the natural elements in.  They have 5 acres of Greenhouse space and additional 2 acres of cooler space. All of their tulips are shipped in dry, upright hampers.

The hanging ferns provide shade and other natural benefits for tulip growth.
