Miscellaneous and Schedule Items

SUMMER CELEBRATION- Our 2016 Summer Celebration program is underway.  Besides offering some great deals on products, 4 lucky winners every week will receive a $50 gift card, and 3 shops will win an all expense paid trip to California! The first week to start earning points will be for delivery the week of July 11th. Find out all the ways to earn points and check out the specials for Week 1 here: https://dvflora.com/EB/2016/summercelebration/wk1/index.html

Independence Day– Remember we are CLOSED on Monday July 4th. All Monday Standing Orders will be delivered on Tuesday. Dutch Direct and Grower Direct items normally for Monday will be available for Tuesday. We will have limited opportunities to secure more product next week, so make sure to plan ahead and cover your needs before it’s too late.

Supply Closeouts– Keep watching for closeouts on hard goods over the next few weeks as we make room for the new fall and Christmas items to start coming in.

Botanicals

Aglaonema – Running Small. They are very slow growing plants. The 6” are 12” to 14” tall, this is shorter than normal. The 8” are very, very difficult to secure right now due to staging- they are not much taller than the 6”- about 14” tall. The 10” – some varieties are ok but the pricing on those available has increased tremendously. The average height is 22” to 26” tall.

Tropical Blooming and Local Combos– These items are now finished. We will not be receiving any more hibiscus, oleander, dipladenia, mandevilla, etc. or Combo Baskets.

Indoor Blooming– Stage 2 to 3 is the average right now. This means about 50% – 75% open

Peonies

Local Peonies are winding down but we have a good selection for next week. Vermont peonies are also available for another week or two. Dutch are for all intents and purposes finished. Anything coming from Holland has likely been stored for a while. We will not be bringing them in.

Basics

Aster/Alstro/Laceflower/Liatris/Limonium/Statice- We have good availability on most items.

Carnations– Production is now coming back on.  Pricing will move lower over the next few weeks.

Mini Carnations– Production of Mini Carns continues to be off expected levels due to weather, revitalization of plantings and farms continuing to move away from Mini Carnation production as a viable profit maker.  We expect VERY limited availability and we will most likely sell out each week for the next few weeks.

Gyp– Production will not be at expected levels for the next several weeks.  Our Open Market Standing Orders continue to be cut weekly. Our orders were cut more heavily for next week than they have been for the past 6 weeks.  The limited availability and high pricing will continue through mid August and we expect to sell out each week for the next few weeks.

Mums/Poms– Demand should begin to drop, while production continues at normal levels.  Expect Pom pricing in particular to move lower over the next few weeks.

Gladiolas– DVFlora Glads are off crop for about 2 weeks. California Glads are available in most colors, but Green, Lavender Peach and Salmon seem very limited. Mexican Glads are available so we are filling with them as needed. Local Glads are starting but we can only get White or Assorted hampers. Michigan glads are similar, with only Assorted 13 packs available. (These are a good alternative to the DVFlora Glads.) After the holiday availability will be better on the Locals and the Michigan.

That’s it for this week. Be sure to check back regularly. Eye On DVFlora has LOTS of information being added all the time.

Have a great Fourth of July holiday!
