California seems to be headed into early Fall. Temps in all regions have been cooling down this week. We are expecting it to remain that way for 10 days. October always has a ‘heat wave’ in store for us, but our hope is we will not experience one this year! Production is starting to slow down on many field flowers. – Marc Robinson, Transflora California Branch Manager 

  •  LA and Asiatic production is very good. Oriental lilies are still in a short gap but still available.
  • Dahlias are beginning to show signs of the season coming to an end, they should make it to mid-October.
  • Gerbera are in limited supply.
  • Snapdragons and Stock are limited but available.
  • Larkspur is available but not in heavy supply.
  • Lisianthus has increased in supply and is excellent quality.
  • Delphinium and Bella are in extremely limited supply.
  • Iris and tulips are in good summer production.
  • Glads are limited in available.
  • Sunflower production is in full swing throughout the state.
  • Fillers are showing signs of slowed production.
  • QA lace, Choc lace are very limited.  Green mist, solidago, and bupleurum available.
  • Matsumotos are very limited.
  • Summer field flowers like craspedia, scabiosa, nigella, gomphrena, cornflower and safflower are all available but numbers are decreasing weekly.
  • Upright and hanging amaranths are in season, all colors available with great fall colors.
  • Hydrangea is starting to turn to antique varieties.
  • Kale is only available in green but colors are not far away.
  • Several Leucadendron varieties are in season now.
  • Some Protea are beginning to come into season, just in time for fall.
  • Eucalyptus is now back to normal levels. Baby Blue, parvafolia, gunni and seeded are available. Willow euc is available. Silver Dollar has started to become more scarce due to HEAVY demand.
